Hi,
I will be in the states some time next week and intend to purchase a Outcast system. The concern that I have is what voltage will the system be.I had a problem last year when I purchased a home theater system. The sales person informed me that it was multi power system and would operate on 120/240 volts. Wrong, got caught out. Had to send the system to the local supplier to change the power supply and other electronic parts.

Tony,

What product are you interested in?
The only product we have that is compatible with 110V and 230V is the OutCast Jr / iCast TX bundle as the power supplies (DC adapters) that come with these units are universal, however the plugs are American.

Something you have to know is that the American versions are not compatible with European ones for example. The difference is the firmware, which is programmed specifically for different geographic areas. In other words, American units won't communicate with European and vice versa, which means you won't be able to mix Soundcast products you might buy in the U.S. with the ones you might buy in other parts of the world.

If you want to check out our list of dealers and distributors, go to the "where to buy" tab and find a local store or dealer where you can get the Soundcast system of your preference that is compatible with the AC line level of your area and has all the right plugs that you need.

Dear Omar,
Thank for your valid input. I will purchase the OutCast Jr / iCast TX bundle here in the UAE and save myself a lot of unnecessary trouble. The other question I have and need an answer to is I have got a Yamaha RX-V3900 A/V Receiver and want to know if I can play music and the radio through the OutCast Jr / iCast TX bundle and what would I need to do to get it to work.

Tony,

You can connect any audio source to the iCast Transmitter to send audio to the OutCast Junior speaker, so the answer is "Yes".

Your homework though, will be to find an available output on your system. It can be something labeled as "Pre out" or “Aux out”, or some other stereo output.

I’m actually looking at the manual and I see a Pre-out and Zone out section, I would connect from the Zone 2 or Zone 3 connectors.

Dear Omar,
Thank you for all your professional assistance. I have dealt with other companies and none have been as professional. Thank you once again.
Tony
